Compassion Over Killing Competes at the Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational

Join COK to cheer on LA Outreach Director, Chef Gwendolyn Mathers, as she goes up against the cheesiest competitors ever with some amazing vegan sammichs at the annual Grilled Cheese Invitational (GCI).

GCI is the largest, craziest, and most exciting Grilled Cheese cooking contest in the country, drawing nearly 10,000 people. Add to all this some cheese-themed poetry, stand-up comics, bands and exhibition cheese grilling demonstrations by professional chefs and you have one of the more unique, entertaining events you could ever be a part of.

Pro-Vegetarian Leafleting at the Doo Dah Parade

Colorado Blvd between Altadena Dr and San Gabriel Blvd, East Pasadena, CA 91107 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join COK during VegWeek at the Doo Dah Parade and hand out pro-veg literature to this fun-loving crowd. Promote the many benefits of animal-friendly eating with Easy Vegan Recipes booklets and Vegetarian Guides to Los Angeles.

Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began in 1978 to gain national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire. The parade route runs along Colorado Blvd in East Pasadena, between Altadena Dr and San Gabriel Blvd.

Vegan Bake Sale & Benefit for Compassion Over Killing

Boca Raton Green Market | 400 S Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432 | 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In honor of US VegWeek and the World-Wide Vegan Bake Sale, Compassion Over Killing volunteers will be offering homemade vegan cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more at the Boca Raton Green Market.

Volunteer bakers will also be distributing literature about the many benefits of choosing animal friendly foods.

Have an irresistible vegan recipe? Volunteers are needed to donate delicious vegan baked goods and help table at the event- and don’t forget to stop by to satisfy your sweet tooth and help animals at the same time!

Specialty Vegan Prix Fixe Benefit Dinner at Ezme

Ezme will be offering a four-course vegan prix fixe menu all week, with 5% of the proceeds going to Compassion Over Killing’s work for farmed animals. $35, plus tax and tip.

A variety of vegan wines are available at Ezme, or for a corkage fee of $15, guests can bring their own wine. On Monday night all bottles of wine will be 1/2 off.
