It’s Day Three of VegWeek, and we hope you’re feeling great! If you’re having doubts, don’t be hard on yourself. Keep your eye on the prize: every time you eat a meat-free meal, you’re helping create a kinder, cleaner, and healthier world.

And remember, as you go through VegWeek, rather than think about what you’re giving up, focus on all the exciting, new foods you’re discovering!

If you’ve crafted a meat-free version of your favorite go-to recipe or found an already-veg staple dish we haven’t yet featured at VegRecipes.org, let us know on Facebook or Twitter – you might inspire someone or get featured on our site!

Did You Know?

Research shows that drinking milk does not actually contribute to bone health. In fact, dairy can cause a host of ailments from high cholesterol to cancer. The dairy industry also has a history of abusingeven killing – animals for profit and directly supports the cruel veal industry.

But Where Do You Get Your Protein?

This is perhaps the most common question asked of vegans and vegetarians. Good news! Eating an adequate number of calories per day made up of any normal variety of plant foods gives us all the protein our bodies need, without the downsides of eating meat. In fact, the average person eating a standard meat-based diet consumes about twice as much protein as their body needs, which can actually lead to kidney stones, calcium loss, and more.

So, don’t “protein-panic” – just pick up some delicious protein-packed plant-based foods, like nuts, beans and more!
